May 1 – Three-and-a-half-week-old son of Percy M. Colp dies of malnutrition. Death records indicate the child has been ill for a few weeks. Family is listed as white by race and Congregational by faith. The doctor is W.H. Cole. Undertaker is neighbour M.F. Colp. Death is registered by the father on May 11. The child’s mother, 29-year-old Bessie M. Dukeshire, dies two months later on June 25 and is buried at Maitland Bridge, Queens County. The couple have a three-year-old son Royden.[1]
June 25 - Twenty-nine-year-old Bessie Dukeshire, wife of Percy Colp, dies after a 10-month illness. Cause of death is listed as tuberculosis of the lungs. Doctor is A.C. Cole. Undertaker is H.M. Freeman. Death is registered by her husband on June 27. Burial is listed as Pleasant River Cemetery, however she is buried in the community where she was born – Maitland Bridge.
Sept. 4 – A second daughter, Elsie Etta, is born to Arch Colp and his wife, Violet Haines.
